    OSHA Fines Increase this Month! Are You Prepared for the Potential Financial Burden?

    In November 2015, Congress enacted legislation requiring federal agencies to adjust their civil penalties to account for inflation. The Department of Labor has adjusted penalties, including OSHA. The new penalties took effect August 2, 2016. Any citations issued by OSHA on or after this date will be subject to the new penalties if the related violations occurred after November 2, 2015.

    OSHA Cites Wisconsin Contractor with $1,395,000 in Proposed Penalties!

    OSHA responded by citing the Wisconsin shipyard operation for 14 willful egregious health violations one for each instance of overexposing a worker to lead.

    PTO: With school back in session we know what this is, but what about HR & Paid Time off!

    Paid time off is a benefit considered a matter of agreement between employer and employee.  So, employers are generally free to adopt paid time off polices at their discretion.
